An annual update on what some of your amazing Area Representatives have been up to in the past 12 months. Did you know that your Area Representatives monitor sites in every parish? That’s 1,347 (Cornwall); 238 (Scilly) Scheduled Monuments and 12,552 (Cornwall); 128 (Scilly) Listed Buildings. Also, there are literally 10s of 1,000s of non-scheduled, non-listed sites. There are only a handful Area Representatives and they are listed on the inside back cover of your Journal.
Tracy Dearing has been looking at and updating records in parishes right across Cornwall where coverage had been non-existent for years. Tracy will give us a talk on her experiences as our newest team member. Hopefully this will encourage more of you, our members, to come forward to join our small but very dedicated team. Linda & David Edyvean keep an eye on some of the 1,000’s of sites on Bodmin Moor and are preparing a short video for us of their work this year. Andrew Langdon needs no introduction and alongside his legendary work with our Cornish Crosses also monitors sites in several parishes as their Area Rep. Brian Oldham is a well known local historian, author and an ardent researcher of people and sites in his Liskeard patch.
Enjoy our talk and then come join our team!
