DESCRIPTION:In the last two decades research on Stonehenge has revolutionis
 ed our understanding of this iconic stone circle and the people who built 
 it. Archaeological excavations and a remarkable range of scientific method
 s have cast light on many new aspects of when\, how and why Stonehenge was
  built. With the dramatic discovery of Stonehenge's Altar Stone coming fro
 m northern Scotland\, in addition to the bluestones' origin in Preseli\, W
 ales\, the monument's purpose may have been connected with the forging of 
 long-distance links across Britain.\n\n\n\nArchaeology Online is a series 
 of talks that is open to all. Talks will take place over Zoom and will exp
 lore Archaeology in Cornwall and beyond.\n\nThe lecture will begin at 7PM 
 with access from 6:50PM. No registration will be required for this session
