DESCRIPTION:The use of Gabbroic clay from the Lizard Peninsula in pottery f
 or 5000 years from the Neolithic period to the Norman Conquest is unique p
 ractice in the UK. Since this discovery in the 1970s much work has been do
 ne to investigate where is was from\, who used it and why they used it. I 
 have been diving deeper into these questions and have found that there wer
 e three or four difference source locations frequented on the Lizard and t
 hat it could be specific to individual communities across Cornwall.\n\nImo
 gen is a self-employed pottery specialist and petrographer based in the So
 uth West of England with 25 years of experience in regional Prehistoric\, 
 Romano-British and early medieval ceramics. Growing up in Cornwall she dev
 eloped a passion for Archaeology and after gaining a 1:1 degree from Durha
 m University she went on to do a MA and PhD at Exeter University where she
  currently lives with her family. Imogen has been involved with CAS since 
 her teens and was CAS secretary 1999-2000\, lectures officer 2010-2012 and
  currently chair of the investigations sub-committee.\n\nThe Zoom link for
