SUMMARY:Cornish Archaeology Online – The 1960s/70s excavations of the Tre
 giffian entrance grave in West Penwith with Henrietta Quinnell
DESCRIPTION:This West Penwith entrance grave was excavated by Dorothy Dudle
 y and Arthur ApSimon some 50 years ago but not published. After ApSimon’
 s death\, English Heritage loaned his archive to Henrietta Quinnell and wi
 th Andy M Jones a British Academy/Leverhume grant was obtained for radioca
 rbon dating. The lecture will discuss the results of the excavation and th
 e significance the dating which confirmed use within the 2nd millennium BC
 \, synchronous with other entrance graves in the Early/Middle Bronze Age.\
 n\nCornish Archaeology Online is a series of talks that is open to all. Ta
 lks will take place over Zoom. The lecture will begin at 7PM with access f
 rom 6:50PM. No registration will be required for this session\, though ent
