From 198 7 he worked as an archaeologist on the Somerset Levels Project and on the Somerset Sites &\; Monuments Register. In 1991 Bill joined Devon County Council. Since then he has worked in planning\, land management advice an d has managed and facilitated various survey and research projects. From 2 011 Bill has been County Archaeologist for Devon and is currently Presiden t of Devon Archaeological Society.
