Cornish Archaeology volume 57 is now out. This edition includes articles on Mesolithic and
Neolithic discoveries on Bodmin Moor found during the improvement of the A30 at Temple;
the excavation of an early medieval se#lement and burials on Samson, Scilly; evidence for
Early Bronze Age Tin mining; evidence for multi-period activity on the Carnmenellis granite
at Stithians; geophysical surveys of four hillforts in south-east Cornwall; and excavation of
an early medieval settlement at Mullion with distinctive Gwithian Style pottery. The volume
also has an article on the Roman fort at Restormel, presenting the results of the geophysical
survey organised by Peter Nicholas. An article on the watercolours of the Bodmin
antiquarian Thomas Quiller Couch includes examples of his work and discusses their
context.
